That’s not a lightsaber!
A long time ago, or maybe in some figment of my imagination that has no rooting in reality, I was asked if I could build a lightsaber. After many years of deliberation I finally gave it a shot. Something’s a bit wrong though – maybe it’s the high-energy baguette? Full disclosure: this is actually a belated birthday gift for my dearest friend in the whole world. Would you believe me if I said this involved three co-conspirators to complete and gift? (Guess what – It did!) Allow me to introduce you to the baguette lightsaber. It is a FWET core construction with plastidip. The “blade” is made of evazote foam for resilience and memory around a dense core of XLPE 2LB. The handle is a lot more straightforward: it’s all XLPE #2. The finished piece was coated in plastidip and then painted with acrylics. It’s about 48 inches in total length with a blade that is 36 inches long. Like all boffers I make it is safe to do battle with.
